Eye Examinations //
Your regular eye examination can detect eye conditions before you even begin to notice any effects on your eyesight. If you would like to book an eye examination with one of our optometrists, call us on 01372 458318 , click here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are proud to have been one of the first opticians in the area to have the Topcon 3D OCT, the latest in scanning technology that looks beneath the surface of the retina for the earliest signs of conditions like glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
During your 30 minute eye examination (50 minutes including OCT), your optometrist will give you full explanations of each eye test and results, answering all and any questions that you may have. They can also tell you whether your prescription is suitable for contact lenses. New contact lens developments mean that these days most prescriptions can be corrected with contact lenses.
As well as measuring your glasses prescription, your eye examination can include:
Glaucoma screening, using the latest technology
Digital Retinal Photography
Eye muscle balance assessment
OCT 3D scanning
Driving vision tests
Wet and dry macular degeneration assessments
Assessments for computer screen users
Our qualified optometrists also offer police and armed services eye examinations, HGV and PSV driver eye examinations and other career vision assessments.
There is no minimum age for an eye examination and we offer free, child-friendly appointments for all under-16s, (and under-19s in full time education) through the NHS system. We recommend that children start to have their eyes examined a year before they start school, at around 3 and a half years old, although we are happy to see younger children than this if there are concerns.
