OCT - Ocular Coherence Tomography

Benefit from the most advanced eye care screening available

Measuring For Glaucoma

The health of your eyes is important to you and to us at Donner Optometrists. Apart from having good vision, a thorough eye examination can help identify issues that affect your overall well-being, as well as your eye health and sight.

OCT - The next generation of eye screening

Now, as the most established Optometrists in the area with 60 years of expertise, Donner has invested in the very latest OCT scanning technology. This new advancement in eye screening uses state-of-the-art technology that enables us to take both a digital photograph and a 3-dimensional scan of the back of your eye that is non-invasive, painless, simple and fast.

This new technology brings a new and essential technique to scan your eyes and diagnose a number of common conditions that affect your sight including glaucoma, vitreous detachments and macular degeneration, which in their early stages may not be apparent in a routine examination.

Why OCT is essential to you

The NHS will provide a free basic eye test for close relatives of those with glaucoma but this does not utilise the most advanced technologies such as OCT, or include photography of the retina. The superior assessment of your eye health we can offer with OCT will give us the most accurate diagnosis possible so we can protect your sight and the health of your eyes to the optimum, as well as checking the progress of your eye health over many years.

How much does an OCT scan cost?

It's difficult to put a value on knowing that your eyes are well looked after and any issues detected and resloved. For just £35 you will have the peace of mind that comes from knowing you've had the most thorough examination of your eyes.
